Looking for Love in all the wrong places

I had an amazing Matrix Reimprinting session this week. I experienced that most of us long for connection and love. I think I already knew this intellectually but this “felt” different. It reminded me of a sentence from an old song “Looking for Love in all the wrong places”. It just came to me that the love and connection we are looking for is inside of us and was there all along. Here is a Mulla Nasrudin story for you. A Sufi folktale.

The Lost Ring

A man noticed Nasrudin intently inspecting the ground outside his door. “Mulla,” he said, “what are you looking for?” “I’m looking for a ring I dropped,” Nasrudin replied. “Oh,” the man replied as he also began searching. “Well where exactly where you standing when you dropped it?” “In my bedroom,” Nasrudin replied, “not more than a foot in front of my bed.” “Your bedroom?!” the man asked. “Then why are you searching for it out here near your doorway. “Because,” Nasrudin explained, “there is much more light out here.”

Here is a reimprinting exercise to help you tune into love and connection: Put your hands on your heart and take a few deep breaths and tune into your heart. Take your time here and once you have a good connection with your heart, focus your attention on all the love and connection you feel there. Make that picture really big and bright – give it a color – and bring that picture in through the top of your head and down into your body into all the cells and organs of your body – put your hands on your heart again – then release the love and let it go out into the universe in every direction.

Give this a try for a week, when you first wake up in the morning and before you go to sleep at night and see if you feel a shift in “Looking for Love in all the wrong places”.
